Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
FreezerBatchCocktails.com ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to opt out. Plain English — no legalese where we can avoid it.
Who this site is for
This site is intended for readers who are at least 21 years old (or the legal drinking age in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you are under 21, please leave the site.
Information we collect
Email addresses
If you submit your email — either through the inline "Email me this recipe" form on a calculator, through the newsletter signup at the bottom of the page, or on the unsubscribe page — the form submits to an email API on our own site. From there we pass your request to the services that process it for us: n8n (automation), Resend (email delivery), and Google Sheets (subscriber list storage).
Here is exactly what each form does:
- Recipe email: requesting a recipe sends you that recipe — nothing else. It does not add you to the newsletter unless you also tick the newsletter checkbox.
- Newsletter signup: we record your address, the page you signed up from, and a consent timestamp. Signing up subscribes you straight away — there's no confirmation step — and every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
- Unsubscribe: marks your address as unsubscribed and sends no further email — not even a goodbye message. The form shows the same response whether or not an address was on the list, so it can't be used to check who is subscribed.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your email. Marketing messages include an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe any time at freezerbatchcocktails.com/unsubscribe.
Bot protection on forms
All email forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused alternative to CAPTCHAs. When you submit a form, Turnstile evaluates limited device and interaction signals to distinguish people from bots, per Cloudflare's privacy policy. We also apply rate limits to the email API to prevent abuse. We never see or store the raw signals Turnstile uses.
Usage analytics
We use PostHog to count visits and understand which pages and recipes are popular, and where people drop out of the calculator. It runs in an anonymous, cookieless configuration: no analytics cookies and no profile that identifies you. We never send your email address, your custom ingredient names, or any other free text you type — only things like a recipe slug, a bottle size, and whether a step completed.
To recognize a repeat visit — so that one person reading three pages counts as one visitor rather than three — PostHog stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage. It is not a cookie: it is never attached to a request, it belongs to this site alone, and no other site can read it. It identifies a browser, not a person, and clearing your browsing data removes it.
PostHog also captures anonymous session replays — a reconstruction of how a visit moved through the page, so we can see where the calculator confuses people instead of guessing. Everything you type is masked before it leaves your browser: a replay shows that a field was filled, never what you put in it, so your email address and your ingredient names stay out of them. We use replays only to find and fix usability problems.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, analytics is switched off entirely and nothing is collected. Blocking analytics does not affect the calculator, sharing, or the email forms.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site itself does not set tracking cookies. Your browser may store small amounts of data locally (for example, your last-used recipe or unit preference); that data stays on your device. The one exception is the anonymous analytics identifier described above, which is sent with the usage events it labels.
However, this site is supported in part by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- For visitors in the EU, UK, or California: where required, you'll see a consent prompt before any non-essential cookies are set, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links to Amazon and other retailers. When you click an affiliate link, the destination site may set its own cookies and collect information per its own privacy policy. We are an Amazon Associate; as such, we earn from qualifying purchases. Those commissions help keep the calculator free.
